Terms & Conditions - Handyman CDS

Important Information

At Handyman CDS, I value transparency and professionalism. These Terms & Conditions explain how I work and what customers can expect when requesting my repair or furniture assembly services. By booking a service, you agree to these conditions.

1. Description of the Task

The customer shall provide an accurate description of the issue or assembly task. Where the work proves to be more complex than initially stated, or requires additional time, materials, or adjustments, the customer agrees to bear all related costs exceeding the standard callout fee.

2. Inspection and Access

Prior to commencing any work, the customer acknowledges that the technician may need to inspect the area of work and, where relevant, open covers, fittings, or enclosures in order to investigate or resolve the reported issue.

3. Pre-existing Conditions and Product Quality

Handyman CDS shall not be held liable for any defects, damage, or faults arising from prior improper installation, faulty construction, or manufacturing defects in furniture, appliances, or materials.

4. Scope of Service

If the reported issue or assembly request lies outside the professional scope of Handyman CDS, the customer accepts that the callout fee remains payable. In such cases, I will provide recommendations for alternative solutions.

5. Recurring or Related Issues

Handyman CDS does not assume responsibility for recurring defects or issues that result from insufficient maintenance, structural deficiencies, defective products, or poor-quality materials supplied by third parties.

6. Availability of Parts or Components

In cases where repair or assembly cannot be completed due to missing, defective, or unavailable parts, the customer agrees that the callout fee remains due. This includes circumstances where furniture deliveries arrive incomplete or damaged.

7. Complex or Underlying Issues

The customer acknowledges that certain problems may stem from deeper or systemic issues requiring extended time and effort. Handyman CDS cannot guarantee resolution where underlying causes exceed the scope of my services. In such cases, the customer is liable for the full callout fee together with compensation for any additional time expended.

8. Access and Work Area

The customer is responsible for providing all necessary access, keys, and sufficient workspace for the technician to carry out the work safely and efficiently. Where access is denied or insufficient, the callout fee and any additional time already incurred remain payable.

9. Safety of the Environment

The customer shall ensure that the work environment is safe by removing obstacles and clearing the premises of residents or third parties if required. In the absence of adequate safety conditions, the technician reserves the right to refuse or suspend work. In such cases, the callout fee remains payable.

10. Delays and Timeframes

The customer accepts that technical issues, missing components, or unforeseen circumstances may cause delays. Handyman CDS shall not be held responsible for inconvenience or time loss caused by the nature of such issues.

11. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due immediately upon completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Accepted payment methods are cash, bank transfer, or other methods agreed in advance.
  • Invoices not settled within the agreed timeframe may incur late payment charges.

12. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • If the customer wishes to cancel or reschedule an appointment, notice must be given at least 24 hours in advance.
  • For cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, the callout fee remains payable.
  • If the technician arrives on-site and the appointment cannot proceed due to customer-related reasons (e.g. no access, absence, unprepared work area), the callout fee will be charged in full.

13. Authority of the Technician

The customer agrees to respect the professional judgment and working methods of the technician. Should the customer interfere in a manner that prevents proper execution of the work, the technician may terminate the assignment. In such cases, the customer remains fully liable for the callout fee and any additional charges incurred.
